We’ve got a whole lot of announcements for you today, including our picnic dates, an update on art show and artist alley, and the identity of our 2019 charity partner. We hope you’ll be as excited about it all as we are!

Our Charity Partner – Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley

Further Confusion is proud to announce that our 2019 charity partner will be the Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley! WCSV has been serving the community and animal life of the Silicon Valley for 25 years, operating primarily as a wildlife rehabilitation hospital. They care for over 5000 animals from over 100 different species each year, with the ultimate goal of releasing their patients back where they belong. Annual Picnic – Sunday, September 23, 2018, from 11AM-4PM

Our annual community picnic is coming up on Sunday, September 23! We will be returning to Fremont Central Park, and meeting at the Lions 1&2 picnic site. This event is open to our community, so please feel free to bring your friends! We will have an assortment of burgers, hot dogs, and vegetarian patties too! As always, we are thankful for contributions from our attendees, so if you have a dish to share it will be appreciated. The picnic will begin at 11AM, and run until 4PM. We expect to start serving food by noon, should everything go as planned. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!

Pre-registration Price Increases September 1st

Our early-bird price for Registration will be going up on September 1st! Register early to save a few bucks, and you’ll be helping us out in the process! Early registrations help us budget for more cool things at the con, so we appreciate it when you pre-register. FurCon is a non-profit event, and uses registration costs to put on the event and support our charity. Your registration makes us possible: register now at!

Artist Alley- Now Open!

Hoping to deal at FC? Our Dealer Rooms may be full, but our Artist Alley lottery signup is now open! It will remain open for one month, until September 15, 2018. These are one-day, half-table spots. Please see the Artist Alley page ( for all the details, including rules and the form link. We hope to hear from you!

Art Show – Panels now Available

We are now accepting panel reservations for the 2019 Art Show! Do you have original art pieces, sculptures, or limited-run prints you’d like to sell? The Art show is the place to do just that! The show is open for bids on Friday and Saturday of the convention, with some pieces going to auction on Sunday. Visit for all the details!

Volunteer with us!

Further Confusion is built by and for the furry community, and we’d love to have you on our team! We have openings for volunteers in several departments, with scheduling options to make sure you still enjoy your convention. Currently, we have a pressing need for programming track leads and a party floor maven. Hotel Update – Keep an eye out for deposits!

If you’ve booked your room, please be on the lookout for the one-night deposit to hit your card. Our housing representative from Team San Jose has been reaching out to those whose payment methods were declined, but you never know when something important like that could go to your spam folder. Still looking for a room? We have rooms available at the Hyatt and Pacific Motor Inn, both featuring free breakfast! The Hyatt boasts spacious rooms, with a pull-out sofa in each king room.
