What times will Registration be open at-con?
Registration hours will be announced shortly before the convention.

I registered online the other day, but I don't see a charge on my credit card yet?
Unlike in previous years, you should see a charge to your credit card within a few days. Sign on and check whether we've received payment through the online registration system. If not, it could be that your mistyped payment details.

What's this about ID and 'Unverified' badges??
All con attendees must show proof of identity to pick up their badge. Any con attendee who can not or will not show proof of age (born before that day's date in 1994) will be given a striped badge that denies access to all adult areas/events of the convention.

The only valid proofs of age are government issued photo IDs (for example, driver's license, military ID, passport) listing a date of birth. Any other photo ID (such as a school ASB card) can be used as a proof of identity for picking up a pre-reg'd badge in lieu of government issued ID but the badge will be striped.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept checks or money orders for payment by mail, Paypal, and Visa, MasterCard or American Express for credit card payments via Paypal (we're working on accepting credit cards directly - watch this space!). Please do not send cash if registering by postal mail. Please always use the online registration system to register - DO NOT send credit card information by regular email. Checks and money orders should be made out to Further Confusion.

I sent in my registration form and a check but I haven't heard anything yet; did you receive it?
Pre-registrations are confirmed after receipt of payment, by email. If you didn't include a valid email address, we couldn't send you a confirmation. If your email address is different from the one you entered in our online registration system, or has changed recently, the email may have bounced. You can always check the online registration system to see if your check has been credited to your account. If you still have questions, please send an . Please be sure to include your real name, fan name (if you have one), and a valid email address if you want a response.

But I don't have email. How can I get a confirmation?
If you don't have email and wish to receive confirmation via postal mail, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your registration form(s) and check/money order. We will confirm your registration(s) when they are received and processed. Alternatively, you can see that status of your registration by looking on the online registration system.

I can't remember if I pre-registered or not. How can I find out?
You can check the status of your registration (or upgrade to sponsor or patron) at any time by using the online registration system.

I've changed my fan name. How do I get it changed on my badge?
You can change your fan name (or any other details) using the online registration system. Badge name changes will be accepted until Jan. 1, 2012. After that, you'll have to have your badge reprinted at the registration desk at the convention.

I registered earlier but I want to upgrade to be a Sponsor or Patron. What do I need to do?
You can upgrade to Sponsor or Patron using the online registration system. Once you have upgraded, you will be prompted to pay the outstanding balance, which can be done via check or money order, PayPal, or credit card via PayPal. (Direct credit card payments will be coming shortly).

I pre-registered but I can't attend. Can I get a refund?
No, but you can transfer your membership to another person, or you can consider your membership a donation to Further Confusion. To transfer your membership to another person, please send us a letter with your name, fan name, address and email, along with the real name, fan name (if any), address, and email address of the person you're selling or giving your membership to. This letter can be by email or postal mail. We will send a confirmation to both you and the recipient of your membership.

What is a Supporting/Non-attending membership?
This membership type is for those who want to support Further Confusion, but who are unable to make it to the convention. This type does qualify as a Further Confusion membership (and allows participation in the Art Show, which requires a membership), but does not allow attending the convention itself. You will receive a convention packet (including con book) by mail after the convention.

What ages are permitted to attend? Can I bring my children?
All ages can attend, but this is a large convention and not specifically geared for very small children. All registered attendees must provide a valid, government-issued photo ID when picking up their badges, and those who can not prove their non-minor status (age 18 or older) will have their badges marked as such, and will not be allowed into any "adult only" areas. "Kit" (Kid In Tow) memberships for ages 0-12 are free. Kits must be accompanied by a registered adult at all times. As always, if you have any questions, please and we'll do our best to assist.

Do you need any dedicated Gophers or staff?
Why, thank you for asking - we always do! Please if you're curious about volunteering for Further Confusion. Help is needed in all areas, not just Registration. Indicate which areas you're interested in helping out with, and the volunteers staff will help you get in touch with the appropriate groups.

If you're interested in joining the staff, the best way to contact the folks who are looking for staff members is to attend one of the monthly open meetings, held at the Marriott Hotel in San Jose.
