The campout will be held at Anthony Lake Chabot Campground the Oakland Hills above Castro Valley. Camping is located just minutes from the Further Confusion Picnic being held at Lake Chabot on Saturday August 2nd, 2008.
DATES
Camping will commence Friday, August 1st, and run till Sunday, August 3rd at noon. (Check out time)
PRICE
Camping will cost $5 dollars per person, per night. Car fees will be assessed upon arrival at $5 per night and both fees will be collected each night. We are allowed a fixed number of persons per site. If you do show up without a prior written reservation confirmation from us you will not be able to stay at our campsites. The park service will remove extra individuals.
AUTOS
Please carpool if you can. Parking is extremely limited and the park service is real touchy about how many and where.
NO AT-CAMPSITE PARKING WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL FROM FURTHER CONFUSION
If you plan on bringing a vehicle please keep in mind we have very few spaces. Vehicle spots in the overflow lot are on a first come, first served basis and will incur an additional $5 dollar fee per night / per car this year.
Campsite Parking spaces will be assigned prior to camping. If you do not have a written reservation confirmation from us, do not park your car at the campsite. We have had people show up without parking reservations and it has caused problems. If you try to park your car, the park service will remove your car at your expense.
CARAVAN
A caravan will be provided Friday evening around 5PM. Exact time, location and organizing person will be announced on our LiveJournal & Forums. If you miss our pre-gathering, directions to the camp can be found here
Quick summary of Park Rules
For a complete list of rules, see the East Bay Regional Parks website
Read it. Learn it. Live it.
PETS
Pets are welcome at a nominal fee upon entering the park. Please be responsible as there will be other pets as well as sleepy campers in the evening. Bring 'pooper scoopers', bags and bowls. Read the pet regs on the East Bay Parks website.
All pets must be confined within a vehicle or tent overnight, and securely leashed and under the immediate control of a person at all times. Maximum leash length is six feet. Persons with noisy or vicious animals will be required to leave the park.
QUITE TIMES
While we are somewhat secluded from the other campsites we need to observe the 10PM quiet times. Amplification equipment and electric generators that disturb other campers will not be allowed at any hour.
FIRES
If you plan on using fire pits please purchase wood from the front gate or Safeway. DO NOT USE ANY WOOD IN THE PARK! Eucalyptus is the prevalent tree around the site, and is extremely flammable! Also, diseased wood still exists in the area. This is not tolerable for use by the park district. Also, stir and DOUSE YOUR FIRES!
ALCOHOL
While wine and beer are permitted into the areas, please refrain from bringing glass. Hard spirits are not allowed by park rules. Please be a responsible drinker.
AGE
Campers must be 18 years of age or accompanied by a LEGAL guardian.
Gates close at 10pm
While you are able to get out, you cannot return after 10pm.
DEPARTURE
Upon departure everyone is responsible for cleaning up their sites and the general gathering area. If camping is to continue in the future everyone needs to pitch in Sunday morning.
