By car - Driving to the hotel

The San Jose Doubletree hotel is located at the corner of Gateway Place and Airport Parkway, just of US-101. From 101, take the Brokaw Road, North First Street, and head west towards the airport. The hotel is on the corner of Airport Parkway and Gateway Place. Parking at the hotel is FREE. For more detailed driving directions, please see the DoubleTree's Map and Directions page.

By Air - San Jose International Airport (SJC)

A complimentary shuttle is provided by the DoubleTree Hotel for guests arriving at San Jose Airport. The shuttle is available to pick up people from the terminal between 5am and 11pm each day. To arrange for the shuttle to pick you up when you arrive to the airport, call the DoubleTree Hotel using the phones at the hotel reservations desk in the arrivals lounge. The hotel is about 5 minutes away from the airport, so it won't take long for the shuttle bus to arrive.

By Air - San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

We recommend, for convenience, that attendees make their travel arrangements into San Jose Airport, as it is by far the closest of the Bay Area airports. However, we do realise that flights may be cheaper into other airports, particular San Francisco. There is no shuttle service that is provided from this airport. However, here are a couple of options available to you if you do fly into that destination.

• Airporter Service - Airporters depart from the Center Island transportation zones on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level of the International Terminal and Domestic Terminals 1 and 3. The Monterey/Salinas Airbus runs between San Francisco and San Jose airports every 90 minutes with a journey time of about 45 minutes. The cost for one person is $15. Once at San Jose Airport, you can pick up the free DoubleTree Shuttle mentioned above.
• Public Transit - Public transportation in the Bay Area does, admittedly, leave a lot to be desired. Though it is possible to take transit from SFO airport to the hotel. Once at the airport, take the AirTrain service to the BART station, and board a train to Milbrae. Once at Milbrae, transfer to CalTrain and take a southbound train towards San Jose. Get off at San Jose Diridon station, and connect to the VTA Light Rail service. Take the Light Rail northbound to the Metro/Airport station. From there, walk down Metro Drive and turn right onto Technology Drive. Cross at the lights that you will come to (Airport Parkway), and the hotel is on the right hand side.

By Air - Oakland International Airport (OAK)

We advise avoiding arrival into Oakland. Transit options are more limited at Oakland Airport. However, there are a number of door-to-door shuttles available that do serve San Jose Airport. We do not have the prices on the shuttles from Oakland.

By Train - Santa Clara/Great America AMTRAK

Using AMTRAK, this is probably the easiest station to disembark at to pick up transit connections to the hotel. Lick Mill VTA Light Rail station is just a short walk east on Tasman Drive. From there, take the light rail downtown to the Metro/Airport station. From there, walk down Metro Drive and turn right onto Technology Drive. Cross at the lights that you will come to (Airport Parkway), and the hotel is on the right hand side.

By Train - San Jose Diridon AMTRAK/CalTrain

There are no direct busses that run between San Jose Amtrak station and the hotel. Attendees arriving by train should take either the number 63 or 65 bus to 1st and San Fernando Streets, disembark and walk to the Santa Clara Street Light Rail station. Take the Light Rail northbound to Metro/Airport. From there, walk down Metro Drive and turn right onto Technology Drive. Cross at the lights that you will come to (Airport Parkway), and the hotel is on the right hand side.
