You may have received a letter in the mail from the City of San Jose claiming you owed $150.00 for a Business License. (A JPG of what the letter looks like can be found by clicking here). We have contacted the City of San Jose Revenue Management department and it has been determined that none of the the dealerships that did business in San Jose for only the 3 days that the Further Confusion Dealer Room and Furry Market Place we open for business should be required to pay any fee.
We wrote to Brenda Charles of Revenue Management for the City of San Jose and received back the following email:
Thank you for your reply to the BLIP Letter. After further review, it was
decided to not pursue Business Tax Certificates for Annual Convention
visitors to the City of San Jose. You do not need to fill out the
Registration Form at this time. Please share this information with vendors
that attend the convention.
Sorry for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.
If you have any questions please contact me at 408-795-3108 or

We recommend that if you have received one of the BLIP letters that you contact Ms Charles and make sure that things are cleared up for you, just to make sure. But you should not have to worry about the Business License unless you have done more than 5 days of business in San Jose during one calendar year.
