Dealer Security Incident

Hello Further Confusion Attendees.

A minor security incident occurred at Further Confusion on Saturday night around 9:45pm. An unknown person gained access to our locked Dealer’s Room West (San Jose Convention Center LL21BCD, adjacent to Con Ops) through a mechanical failure in a convention center airwall. Based on Further Confusion’s security camera records, we have identified a small number of dealers that may have had some items stolen, with one dealer confirmed. We are aware of only two items stolen: a fursuit head and a balaclava.

To the best of our knowledge, the suspect is not an attendee. The suspect was seen in convention center camera footage as leaving the convention center immediately after the incident.

We have worked with the known-affected dealer to file a police report, and are issuing emails to all dealers informing them of whether they are thought to be affected. We will be working to support our dealer community as we amend the police report and work with the San Jose Convention Center and their security and insurance teams. In the meantime, we have posted a dedicated FLARE staff member to watch the space, and the San Jose Convention Center is also working to provide overnight security.

This is a very serious issue, and we apologize that this breach in security has affected our FC community. We thank you all for bearing with us as we take care of our dealers and make the best of this situation.

Thank you,

The FC Executive Team
